HausPass Terms of Use
Last updated: October 28, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and 1955140 Ontario Inc., operating as Novamentum Consulting ("Novamentum", "we", "us" or "our"), the operator of HausPass. They apply to the HausPass website, apps and services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, buying a membership or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
You can reach us at support@hauspass.ai.
1. What HausPass is
HausPass helps you keep a record of the appliances, systems, devices and other assets in your home, track warranties and maintenance, prepare service requests and warranty claims, find service providers, and buy products for your home.
HausPass is not an insurer, a home warranty provider, a manufacturer or a contractor. When we help you prepare a warranty claim or service request, the decision to approve, repair or replace belongs to the warranty provider, manufacturer or service provider you are dealing with, under their own terms.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to create an account.
- Give us accurate information, including your legal name, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away at support@hauspass.ai if you think someone else has used it.
- One person per account. Don't share your login. Family members should use their own login through the Family Plan.
3. Properties
- A membership covers one property. You claim it by entering its address. Each address can have only one owner account on HausPass.
- By claiming a property, you confirm that you own it or have the owner's permission to manage it on HausPass.
- If someone else has already claimed your address, contact us. We may ask for proof of ownership or residence and may transfer or remove a claim when we have reasonable grounds.
- Purchases ship only to the property claimed on the account. We can't change the delivery address at checkout.
4. Memberships, billing and renewal
Plans and prices. HausPass is offered as a Monthly membership at $30.00 per month or an Annual membership at $320.00 per year. The optional Family Plan is $3.00 per month on a Monthly membership or $32.00 per year on an Annual membership. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes (including HST), which are added at checkout. The price, billing frequency and taxes are shown to you before you pay.
Automatic renewal. Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and the card on file is charged the then-current price until you cancel. Before an Annual membership renews, we send you a reminder email with the renewal date and amount. If we change the price of your plan, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before the change applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number. If a payment fails, we'll ask you to update your payment method; if it isn't updated, we may pause or end your membership.
Free trials. If you join with a valid promo code, your membership starts with a free trial (usually 30 days). You must add a card to start the trial, but you won't be charged for it. When the trial ends, it simply stops and your access ends, with no charge. If you want to keep HausPass, choose Keep my membership on your account page before the trial ends (or join again after it ends); your card is then charged the price of the plan you chose, and your membership renews automatically as described above. One free trial per person and per household. Annual purchase credit is granted once your first annual payment is made, not during the trial.
Discount codes. Some promo codes take a percentage off your first annual payment (for example, ELECTRIC takes 25% off the first year of an annual membership). Discounts apply to the membership only, not the Family Plan add-on, are for new members joining for the first time, can't be combined with a free trial, and end at your first renewal, when the regular price applies. A discount code may come with a smaller first-year member credit, as shown when you apply it.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing on your dashboard, or by emailing support@hauspass.ai. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Refunds.
- Monthly memberships: charges are non-refundable, except where required by law.
- Annual memberships: if you cancel within 14 days after the initial purchase or an annual renewal, we'll refund that year's fee, less the value of any member credit used during those 14 days. After 14 days, annual fees are non-refundable except where required by law, and you keep access until the end of the paid year.
- Family Plan: follows the refund rule for your membership type. When you add or remove the Family Plan part-way through a period, Stripe prorates the charge or credit to your next bill.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right you have under Ontario consumer protection law or the law of the province where you live.
Switching plans. You can switch between Monthly and Annual from Manage billing. The change is prorated and the Family Plan, if you have it, moves to the matching price.
5. Family Plan
- The property owner can add the Family Plan and invite up to five family members, who each create their own login.
- Family members can view the property's records, request service and place orders for delivery to the property. The property owner is responsible for activity by the family members they invite.
- Family access is paused if the owner's membership ends or the Family Plan is removed. The owner can remove a family member at any time, and a family member can leave at any time.
- Member credit belongs to the owner and applies only to the owner's orders and receipts.
6. Member credit
- Annual members receive $100.00 of member credit when their annual payment is processed, and again at each annual renewal. Monthly members don't receive member credit.
- If you join with a discount code that sets a different first-year credit (for example, ELECTRIC gives $50.00), that amount applies to your first membership year only. From your first renewal you receive the full $100.00.
- Credit can be applied to purchases made through HausPass. On each order, credit can cover at most 10% of the order subtotal before tax (for example, $40 on a $400 order, or the full $100 on a $1,000 order).
- Credit resets to $100 at each annual renewal. Unused credit expires at the end of the membership year and doesn't carry over.
- Credit has no cash value. It can't be redeemed for cash, transferred, sold or refunded, and it ends when your membership ends.
- If an order paid partly with credit is fully refunded during the same membership year, the credit used is returned to your balance.
- Purchases at other stores. You can also use credit on things you buy elsewhere by adding the receipt or order confirmation in HausPass. Credit only applies to items the receipt shows were purchased within the 30 days before you add it, and after your membership started; older receipts can still be added to track the item but don't earn credit. The same 10%-of-subtotal limit applies. Because we can't discount another store's checkout, the credit is applied as a discount on your next HausPass renewal. Each receipt can be used once. We may ask for more information or decline a receipt that looks altered, duplicated or unrelated to your home, and if a purchase is returned or refunded, we may reverse the credit. If your membership ends before the next renewal, the unused discount ends with it and has no cash value.
- We may correct credit that was granted in error.
7. Purchases
Seller. Products sold through the HausPass shop are sold by Novamentum. Some products are shipped directly by our suppliers.
Prices and availability. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude taxes, which are calculated at checkout. We try to show accurate prices and descriptions. If an item is priced incorrectly or becomes unavailable after you order, we'll contact you; you can then cancel for a full refund.
Delivery. Orders ship only to your claimed property. Delivery times are estimates. Someone may need to be present to receive large items. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery.
Installation. Where an item is sold "installed", installation is performed by a qualified installer we arrange. We'll contact you to schedule it. Installation is subject to site conditions; if the installer finds conditions that prevent a standard installation (for example, code issues, access or required upgrades), we'll give you a quote for the extra work or a refund for the installation portion.
Returns.
- Report damaged, defective or incorrect items within 48 hours of delivery at support@hauspass.ai. We'll arrange a replacement or refund.
- Unopened, unused items in original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping may be deducted from the refund unless the item was damaged, defective or incorrect.
- Items that have been installed, custom-ordered, or are marked final sale can't be returned, but remain covered by any manufacturer warranty.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method.
Manufacturer warranties. Products come with the manufacturer's warranty, if any. We don't provide an additional warranty unless we say so in writing.
8. AI-assisted features
HausPass uses artificial intelligence (provided by Anthropic) to read photos of labels, receipts and documents, suggest likely causes of problems, estimate costs, compare products and summarize warranty contracts.
- These outputs are general information, not professional advice. They can be incomplete or wrong. Check important details, such as model and serial numbers, warranty dates and coverage, against the original documents.
- Never rely on HausPass for safety decisions. If you smell gas, see sparks or smoke, or have water near electrical equipment, leave the area and contact the appropriate emergency service, utility or licensed professional.
- Work on gas, electrical, structural or other regulated systems should be done by a licensed professional.
- Cost estimates and product suggestions are approximate and may be out of date.
9. Service providers and warranty claims
- Service providers you find or contact through HausPass are independent businesses. We don't employ, endorse or guarantee them, and any agreement for their work is between you and them. Check licences, insurance and reviews before hiring.
- When you prepare a warranty or service claim through HausPass, you're responsible for checking it and for any submission you make. The warranty provider or manufacturer decides whether a claim is covered.
- Where HausPass shows a claim decision that is labelled as a simulation or estimate, it is not a decision by your warranty provider.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, documents and information you add ("Your Content"). You give us a non-exclusive licence to store, process and display Your Content to provide the Service to you and the people you share your property with, and to process it with our service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. Don't upload content you don't have the right to share, or that contains other people's personal information without their permission.
11. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service. For example, don't: claim a property you have no right to; access other people's accounts or data; upload malware; scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the Service; use it for anything unlawful; or resell membership benefits or credit.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service as a whole, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused portion of any prepaid membership fee.
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change applies; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, is used fraudulently, or where required by law. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. If we close your account without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of any prepaid membership fee. You can close your account at any time by contacting us; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for losses caused by service providers, manufacturers or warranty providers you deal with through HausPass.
- Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) $100.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer under Ontario law, or liability for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You can bring a claim in the courts of Ontario or in the courts of the province where you live.
